So my plane leaves Heathrow bound for Zambia (via Jo'burg) in less than 24 hours, and i thought I would leave a post before I actually go. In case I am eaten by a black mamba in one gulp, at least you'll know I was really excited to go and I wouldn't want to be going or doing anything else in the world for the next 9 weeks...
I really do have great expectations for the next 9 weeks. I'm excited to go somewhere no where near like I have ever been before (I assume/hope) and I guess I am most excited about connecting with a completely different people group, especially the kids I will be working with in the school. I am also apprehensive. As my 11 year old cousin exclaimed down the phone from America today 'Jessie you are going to FREAK OUT!', in relation to the local wildlife. I may find it harder to adjust than most to the non-human, less than welcome residents of Ndola. But I am determined to get over it as quickly as I want to get over this horrible malarone-induced flu!
So watch this space. Hopefully I will be able to upload some photo's onto here, but If i don't, my verbal accounts of my adventure will have to suffice until i return! Adios amigo's
P.s. For those of you that don't know, I'm going to be working with a charity out in Ndola, Zambia and you can find out all about them at http://www.thelifespringfoundation.org/
